Join us for engaging presentations by Jana Tauschinski, Graphic Editor of the Financial Times, and Julian Hoffmann Anton, Data Visualisation Associate (QMUL/UCL), as they explore the wide spectrum of Data Visualisationβ€”from high-profile news storytelling to in-depth academic research and data art. With interactive Q&A sessions and networking opportunities before and after the talks, this event promises a rich experience for both data visualisation experts and enthusiasts.

Biographies

Jana is a graphics editor on the visual and data journalism team at the Financial Times, where she works on data-driven stories with a focus on climate. She is a regular contributor to The Climate Graphic: Explained newsletter, which provides a behind-the-scenes look at the data and design decisions that go into producing climate visualisations. Prior to joining the FT, Jana was a data visualisation designer at BBC News and worked in social research.

Julian Hoffmann Anton is an experienced data visualization designer and data science consultant specializing in transforming data analytics into engaging visuals across medical, urban, and scientific domains. Currently working for QMUL and UCL in medical data communication in addition to other diverse projects.

With expertise in 3D data visuals and animations, Julian is driven to make a positive impact by using captivating graphics to empower progress. At the forefront of innovation, he applies cutting-edge open-source tools in 3D modelling, generative AI, digital art, and mixed media to enhance the field of data communication.
