Productivity Mapping Launch 2019

Cundall Launches Productivity Mapping; making the business case for wellbeing

Cundall has develop a new tool for assessing the impact of the workplace on occupant productivity, both in design and in operation.

For any organisation, staff salaries represent a large proportion of their costs. Low levels of productivity have a critical impact on the bottom line. The Harvard and Oxford Brookes universities latest research indicates that workspaces can have a 10-15% impact on productivity. So, a 1% improvement in productivity for many organisations can equate to savings of millions of pounds.

Building on Cundallโ€™s industry leading work on design for health and wellbeing, including delivering Europeโ€™s first WELL certified building, we have created a tool which can identify areas in a building that has reduced productivity as a result of the indoor environmental quality (IEQ). Armed with the results it enables us to assess the benefit of remedial measures.

We will offer up a host of practical ideas for optimising new and existing workspaces, including a number of real-life case studies where substantial savings have been achieved:

1.A 2.6% improvement for an office move equating to over ยฃ520,000;

2.ยฃ1.1M for optimising the proposed fit-out design of a high-end trading floor;

3.A 5.8% improvement of a in-use investment office floor and remedial works using live data readings; and

4.Multiple technical due diligence reviews to aid building selection to optimise return-on-investments.
