Digital Science - London Office
Registration
Earlier this year, we released a series of Digital Science Research Reports focusing on gender representation in UK research institutions using data from Dimensions. In November, we released a report on gender imbalance within cancer research grants. In January, we released a report about gender representation in UK research institutions and created a data visualisation tool to easily look at relative success in reaching equality across subjects and institutions.
We want to celebrate Ada Lovelace Day with you by exploring new ways to combine and develop our research with other existing data sources and find ways of bringing these together to monitor progress at a glance. To do this, we are looking for people with any of the following skills:
Weβll provide the space, internet access, and fuel to bring people together. Youβll provide one or more of the aforementioned skills. Please bring a laptop and charger. If you have a skill we havenβt mentioned, but you want to contribute to this project, please join us.
This event is free to attend, open to anyone over the age of 18, and from any background, from researchers, to developers, to designers. Food and drink will be provided. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions by emailing Suze at [email protected].
Places are limited, so if you have registered but are later unable to make the event, please let Suze know on the email address above.
The event will run from 6pm to 9pm on Thursday 10th October, which is not a lot of time, but enough to make a good start on this project. Registration and nibbles from 5:30pm.
Location: Liotta Meeting Room, Digital Science, 6 Briset Street, London EC1M 5NR.
Please sign in at Reception on the Ground Floor before heading up to our offices on the First Floor.
We look forward to seeing you on 10th October!
