Sarabande Summer Group Show: A Place

Performing & Visual Arts

The two part exhibition that should be on everyone’s radar this summer

For 20 artists currently in residence across Sarabande’s studios in Haggerston and Tottenham, A Place will present the culmination of their time spent at the Foundation. Spanning six weeks, two groups of artists will exhibit across two group shows, presenting different versions of A Place.


The first part Can I just…” will run from 1 August - 16 August

Followed by the second part …stay longer from 21 August - 6 September.

At the threshold of change, the artists are responding to the ambiguities and possibilities presented by the transitional and sometimes uncomfortable space in-between. The exhibition will showcase bold new work including delicate photographs on leaves, ‘stained glass’ sugar sculpture and intricate hand carving.

Lee Alexander McQueen was an artist and visionary. With Lee’s vision and direction, Sarabande has changed the lives of more than 230 artists and designers through scholarships, mentoring and heavily-subsidised studio space. And many thousands more attend the public events programme each year. Sarabande supports those who have incredible talent and artistic ability, those willing to push boundaries and overturn prevailing orthodoxies.
