We are hugely privileged to be joined by these superb and highly-experienced debaters who have entertained audiences around the world. Their impressive profiles are below. Proposition

  • Shaurya Chandrawanshi studied Politics Philosophy and Economics at the London School of Economics. He is currently ranked as one of the top 10 debaters in the world. He is particularly interested in education policy and its effects on economic mobility, and how all sorts of institutions can work on upskilling and enriching the lives of the people within them.
  • Joshua Ashworth works for the Office for Investment as an International Investment Officer, based out of the Department for International Trade. During his competitive debate career, he won debate tournaments across the world, representing his university in the knockout rounds of the European and World University Debate Championships. He is an ambassador for Pimlico-based charity 'Outbreak', a social enterprise aimed at outreach to young people through mentoring, sport and social interaction.
  • Kuberan Hansrajh Kumaresanis a third-year Malaysian undergraduate reading Law (Jurisprudence) at New College in the University of Oxford. He currently works as a casework volunteer for The Unity Project; a group of people dedicated to removing the NRPF condition for immigrants. He was formerly the President of the New College Law Society and a Linklaters Oxford Law Access Ambassador. As an aspiring human rights barrister, he spends his time debating and mooting frequently as well as playing football with his friends on the weekend. His biggest inspirations are his parents who taught him to love what he does and never stop dreaming.

Opposition

  • Asha Symons is a recent graduate from Durham university who is currently pursuing a law conversion at Kingโ€™s College. She has been debating since I was eleven and have debated at an international level at three consecutive World Schools Debating championships between 2016-2018. During her undergraduate degree, she became secretary and then later president of Durham debating society.
  • Over the past six years Millie Szolkowskahas coached and debated at conferences and internal events across the world on a wide variety of industry-relevant topics. Building upon past experiences working in communications and within equity, diversity and inclusion teams across industries, and having recently graduated from LSE with a masterโ€™s in environmental policy and Regulation. She is currently working as a Sustainability and Climate Change consultant at PwC.
  • Keanna Williams works at Clifford Chance. She is also a Creative Tech Entrepreneur, who is passionate about driving forward sustainable social change. Keanna is the Founder of Nullusa social tech company dedicated to providing bespoke support to survivors of sexual violence and providing training to people and organisations to aid them in creating safer environments at large. In addition, Keanna is also the Co-Founder of The Caribbean Network an organisation that serves the Caribbean and the Caribbean Diaspora, by supporting Caribbean young people access and achieve their full potential as well as consult organisations on how to provide tailored, impactful and sustainable Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
