Serious Games: London is a new bi-monthly networking event, targeted at companies and organisations, designers and developers, that either utilise or can benefit from the use of video game technology for non-entertainment situations, such as virtual and augmented reality applications, visualisations, simulations and training.
In our first meetup on Wednesday 15th January, we will have presentations from Darrenlloyd Gent, Undergraduate Coordinator for Games and Digital Media at the University of Greenwich and organiser of Serious Games: London, engineers and architects Arup and their work with game engine technology, as well as Jack Strongitharm Senior Business Development Manager from game engine developers, Unity, who will be talking about enabling building modelling information interactivity for the architecture, engineering and construction industries.
The main aim of this inaugural meetup is to provide a forum to identify the needs and diversity of Londonβs many varied companies, organisations, and individuals; exploring the possibilities of how games technology can be used to enhance any organisation.
Drinks and refreshments are sponsored by the University of Greenwich and booking of places will be managed through Eventbrite.
