So, what better way to encourage this than to host an event where you get to hear from and network with people pioneering in the industry?! Not only will you get an insight from industry experts about their experiences and get the chance to ask questions, you’ll hear specifically about hot topics: ‘Code Generation Unchained’ and ‘Cultivating an A11y Culture’.

Our Speakers:

Ryan Ju -Technical Lead at Trinny London

Ryan is a Full Stack Engineer with a strong focus on developer experience, cloud computing and SRE. With a Computer Science degree from Oxford, it is his passion to pursue the best engineering principles and build high performance systems. He is a professional AWS solution architect.

Ryan’s Talk: Code Generation Unchained

Skyler Avery – Senior Full Stack Engineer at Trinny London

Skyler has been in tech since 2014, starting out as a web developer intern. Since then, she has moved between companies and honed her skills in the front end of web development, taking a keen interest in design systems, performance and web accessibility. Amongst other things, Skyler has begun creating an accessibility culture at Trinny so everyone can access the products on offer.

Community TechAid are closing the digital divide by providing technology and skills to our communities, whilst recycling, reusing and repairing e-waste.

DS Group and Community TechAid revolve around the tech-industry, and more specifically we share a passion for Tech For Good. It is within this alignment where our values, vision and mission reflect each other’s and demonstrates a clear purpose for our collaboration in closing the digital divide.

Our Code of Conduct

At DS Group events, all attendees and speakers are required to comply with the following code of conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event. We are expecting cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everyone.

The Short Version

Our events are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion (or lack thereof). We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate for any venue, including talks, workshops, parties related to DS Group and online media. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned, expelled from the event at the discretion of the organisers, and if necessary, banned from participating in future events.

The Less Short Version

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, the event organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender, expulsion from the event, or banning the offender from participating in future events. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the staff immediately. Staff will identify themselves at the beginning of the event. For incidents on social media or make an anonymous report, you can also use this email address: [email protected].

Event staff will be happy to help participants contact security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event. We value your attendance.

We expect participants to follow these rules at event venues and related online platforms.
