Startups and Tech for Good: making the move - discussion with Alex Stephany

Join Movemeon and Beam as we'll be discussing how to launch your career at a VC-backed tech startup. Alex Stephany is CEO of Beam: winner of Techcrunch's award for Europe's 'Hottest Tech for Good'. Alex also won 2019 UK Social Entrepreneur of the year and will be sharing his experiences of moving into high-growth tech and impact businesses, followed by Q&A and networking drinks.

Alex Stephany - CEO of Beam, Social Entrepreneur of the year

Alex Stephany is a leading London-based tech entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of Beam: the world’s first platform that crowdfunds employment training for homeless people and supports them into skilled work. Before Beam, Alex was CEO of JustPark, a tech startup with over 3m users backed by arguably Europe's top VC firm, Index Ventures, and BMW, where he also led the formerly largest crowdfunding round for a tech startup in history. An expert on the sharing economy, Alex has authored a book called The Business of Sharing, which was published by Macmillan in 2015. He has also advised the Mayor of Seoul on collaborative technology. Alex graduated from Oxford University with a 1st class and started his career in corporate law.
