Teachers’ Special Preview of Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2019

Community & Culture

Join us for the opportunity to see and view the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2019 at a private view just for teachers & lecturers.

We hope this special preview will provide the opportunity to relax and enjoy the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2019 exhibition before the Launch and Announcement of the 2019 Awards (on Wednesday 25 September) and to share thoughts and ideas inspired by the 68 drawings on show. The drawings by 62 artists and makers were selected for the annual exhibition by the distinguished selection panel, Chantal Joffe RA, Andrew Nairne OBE and Professor Dorothy Price. The foremost annual open exhibition for drawing in the UK, the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize, founded in 1994 as the Rexel Derwent Open Drawing Exhibition, was known as Jerwood Drawing Prize from 2001 to 2017, with Trinity Buoy Wharf Trust becoming the prinicpal sponsor in 2018. Selected from original drawings by distinguished expert panel members, the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize and exhibition has an established reputation for its commitment to championing excellence and promoting and celebrating current drawing practice in the UK. This open exhibition is a platform for all drawing practitioners in the UK - from emerging to established - to showcase their work alongside other leading artists and makers in the field. The annual exhibition tours widely after a launch in London.

Professor Anita Taylor, Director of the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize will lead the tour of the exhibition and will be available to discuss any visit requirements for school, colleges and universities during the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2019 exhibition as it tours to venues throughout the UK.
