It’s a fog shrouded winter of 1890, and Sherlock Holmes is on the trail of a diabolical killer of London’s leading philanthropic lights - a killer who has sent a note signed “Lucifer”. Thwarted by a new man at Scotland Yard, and dogged by a journalist seeking revenge, Holmes, along with Watson, travels from the Mayfair to Spitalfields, the Isle of Dogs to Kensington confronting anarchists and artists, opera stars, MP’s and street urchins in a quest to catch the killer who has drawn a bloody swath through London.
Join Sherlockian author Bonnie MacBird for an illustrated talk about the London of the book --and a reading for her third Holmes novel. You may have seen her here before, she’s presented her first two Holmes books, ART IN THE BLOOD, and UNQUIET SPIRITS at Westminster Ref!
Your ticket includes a free glass of bubbly and snacks. Books will be for sale, and the author will donate a portion of the proceeds to the library.
There is a slight chance that Mr. Sherlock Holmes or Dr. Watson may appear as well, though they may be on a case.
