Women for Women: Campaigning, Activism and Careers that make a Difference

Charity & Causes

Join us for our panel discussion event titled 'Women for Women: Campaigning, Activism and Careers that make a Difference'.

In observance of the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women Day, we will be hosting a panel discussion event bringing together female international development and gender experts discussing the causes and implications of Violence Against Women globally and the use of activism as a tool for social change; with topics ranging from activism in the fight for sexual and reproductive rights for women; to digital and media activism and the power of storytelling in the β€˜me too’ era.

Our panellists will provide a gendered lens on the issues women can face navigating a career in international affairs including gaining entry into the field and overcoming social barriers which particularly effect women operating in this space such as violence within international development.

In recognition of this global pandemic and in line with our mission to empower women and enable gender equity in careers in international affairs, this event focuses on overcoming violence and abuse against women globally through activism and career pathways into gender and development.

Panellists will represent a variety of sectors including human rights to academia, peace building and community organizing to provide the audience with cross-sectoral insight on career pathways into activism, gender and development and shed light on the global issue of Violence Against Women.

Each panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A session.

A drinks and food reception will be served upon arrival and the event will be followed by a networking session.

Doors open at 18:00 for a 18:30 start.
