Sanchez Benton Architects will present their Holyrood Street kiosk and garden, now known as Low Line Louis. This ten year meanwhile project adjoining a leftover bin yard on a flank wall owned by Southwark Council recently received a Civic Society Award. Architects and partners including the Council and Team London Bridge will present how the kiosk forms part of a wider public realm strategy for Holyrood Street, an emerging destination on the Low Line which runs alongside the mighty Victorian railway viaduct. The kiosk is at once joyous and functional. Taking cue from continental street kiosks, the entirely demountable scarlet timber building is actually a giant planter with a funky cafΓ©/bar at ground level and stepped terraces of native herbs, perennials and climbers crowning it. Come along and we invite you to stay for a happy hour cocktail.

The London Festival of Architecture is a month long celebration of architecture and city-making, taking place every June across London. The Festivalβs mission is to open up discussions around architecture, test new ideas and uncover and promote new talent. What makes the LFA unique is that the LFA programme is people-led and curated by event organisers; we believe in the power of collaboration with the people who live, shape, and truly know London. Itβs the breadth and creativity of this community of event organisers that delivers such a varied and engaging programme of events for the festival each June.
