SDGS: Innovations For A Sustainable Future - PRIVATE VIEW

Performing & Visual Arts

An interactive exhibition touching on challenges of the Sustainable Development Goals set up by the United Nations in 2015.

Exhibition dates: 6 October - 2 December 2022

12 Star Gallery, Europe House, 32 Smith Square, London SW1P 3EU

The current global issues as well as the ways to fix them from a scientific perspective have been the main inspiration for creating the exhibition SDGs: Innovations for a Sustainable Future.

The interactive augmented reality exhibition, artistically rendered by the renowned graphic designer Pavel Fuksa, shows how scientific progress and innovation are helping fulfil the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals for transforming our world were adopted by all UN member states in 2015. Among others, they are working with a plan to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, achieve gender equality and avert climate threats by 2030.

The exhibition demonstrates the power of human thinking and originality in the search for answers to the most complex questions. Can we feed the ever-growing population? How can we stop violence against women? How do we share our work with robots? Will humanity save the very planet it is currently destroying? Can we effectively combat fake news?

In addition, the exhibition presents important international research infrastructures and scientific workplaces that operate directly in the Czech Republic and whose research focuses on current global challenges.

The exhibition was created as a joint project of the Czech Centres and the Czech Technology Agency. It is part of the 2022 Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU Programme.
